San Diego Padres
Keep On Believin’. In 1994 the players went out on strike. John Moores bought the team and gave the ad account to DiZinno Thompson. I wrote a big orchestral piece kind of like Randy Newman’s score for “The Natural”. This isn’t that.
In the year after the strike the Padres did well. They played well and the fans came back. So the 1995 campaign was called Keep the Faith. DZT brought back the Swinging Friar logo. We did a gospel choir track called Keep the Faith. This isn’t that.
This is the next year. Sort of Keep the Faith II. This is Keep on Believin’.
Lead vocal by Leonard Tucker who is now singing with the Fifth Dimension. The choir is the Voices of Fulfillment led by Eddie Baltrip. I played all the instruments except CJ Vanston played the B3. David Cole mixed it. My guitar solo on the SG.
